Could a 12-0 Notre Dame team get left out? Are the Big 12 and Pac-12 already eliminated from contention?ESPN took a look at some of the College Football Playoff hopefuls today.The Worldwide Leader named two undefeated teams “dark horse” contenders:West VirginiaWest Virginia still has to prove it has staying power, but if it can make a run at the Big 12 title and finish as a one-loss champ, it would certainly be considered. The problem for West Virginia (and the entire Big 12) is Notre Dame. The Irish are in a much better position to run the table, and an undefeated record would almost guarantee a top-four finish over a one-loss Big 12 champ.
